Celebrity Race Across The World is back on BBC One tonight, August 14, with four teams vying for the top spot. They'll hit five checkpoints along their route, but they won't know their next destination until they're ready to depart.

This year's contestants include Jeff and Freddy Brazier, Ted Lasso star Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen, broadcaster Kelly Brook and her husband Jeremy, and Radio 2 presenter Scott Mills and his husband Sam.

The route for season two is even more extensive than the inaugural season's journey, which covered 10,000km from Morocco to Norway. Weather presenter Alex Beresford and his father Noel were declared the winners of the first season.

For the second season, the race will kick off in Belem, Northern Brazil, known as the gateway to the Amazon. There will be five checkpoints across South America before reaching the finish line in the Andes, Frutillar in Southern Chile.

Here's everything you need to know about the potential checkpoints as the celebrity spin-off gets underway.

There are nine countries that the competitors might traverse during their journey, including Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru in the north of the continent.

Bolivia and Paraguay are located in the heart of South America, with Uruguay and Argentina at the southern end.

The official checkpoints have yet to be disclosed as the teams will only discover their next destination when they are prepared to embark on the next leg of the journey.

Jeff Brazier and his son Freddy are excited about their upcoming adventure, with Jeff expressing his love for nature: "I want to be up a mountain, I want to be next to a lake, I want to be on a beach. I want all those things. I want to see a waterfall."

Freddy shared his thoughts on the physical demands of their journey: "I actually said this to someone the other day, I don't want to be doing any really big climbs."

"But if it's to a waterfall that I can actually jump in, then I will do it. I don't want to climb up a massive mountain and then have to come down."

"I'm doing loads of steps here with a big weighty bag on my back, the last thing I want to do with that bag is climb a mountain, knowing that I've got all this walking to do after that."
